Hey everyone! Today is a pretty important milestone. I’ve listed Destroyer on Amazon for pre-order, and have begun preparing for Monday’s launch.

The first video discusses a lot of that setup. Specifically, why I listed it for 99 cents, why I did a preorder, and why the book is enrolled in Kindle Unlimited despite the fact that most of my fiction is wide.

As always, if you have questions about this series please post in the comments here or at YouTube. I’m really excited to have you along for the ride, and I’ve got my fingers crossed that Destroyer will do well!

  • Agree with Richard. Comment and Question for you: If you allow your book to be pre-ordered on Amazon, the sales from those sales don’t have a windfall effect on day 1 of publication (whereas Kobo and iBooks do). In some respects, you lose those sales that instead could tip the scale on that first day of publication and boost your sales ranking. What are your thoughts about that drawback? Is it still viable to allow for pre-order on Amazon?

Looking forward to watching the next one in the series.

    • A long preorder is a bad idea for exactly the reason you’re stating. A short, quiet preorder means that you launch with also bought books, but aren’t sacrificing much of your launch momentum. That’s why I did a week. =)

      • Got it. Good to know since I have been flirting with the preorder for my next book. Now I know how to move forward with it. Thanks Chris!

  • Great video. Are the keywords you chose going to be in the next video? I don’t do sci-fi, but I’m interested to see your process. I know you talked about it briefly on some podcasts recently. I also love your 5K WPH app. It helps me not be as lazy. đŸ˜›

    • I will, Randy. The short version is that most of my keywords went to categories. =)
