I’ve gotten a ton of questions about which books I’m releasing when, especially from Deathless fans. That’s fair, as we haven’t seen a new Deathless book since Halloween. I’ll address you guys at the end of the article. =)
For those who don’t know I’ve gone full time at this author thing. That means I’m putting a book out every month for the rest of the year. Here are the upcoming release dates:
If you’re a Deathless reader you probably wanted to punch me when you saw the August 21st date. Why have I published so many books, instead of The Great Pack?
Because Deathless is a vast, complex universe. After the admittedly messed up cliffhanger in Vampires Don’t Sparkle I needed to adjust for the, uh, massive changes. I can’t say more without spoilers, but those who read VDS know that the ending changed everything.
I’ve been furiously plotting and world building, and this go around I’m plotting books 4-6 at the same time. That means more prep time, which is why The Great Pack has taken a while to release.
Deathless is my baby. It’s my first series, and I want to do it justice. That means a little more time than some of my easier series. Thank you for your patience. I promise, I’ll do my best to make the wait worth it.
Why are some of them C.T. Fox and some of them Chris Fox? (Although Chris Fox is an awfully generic name, no offense.)
The stuff I write under C.T. Fox is very different from the Chris Fox stuff, so I figured giving readers a way to know that might be a good idea.
Chris Fox is a common name, but I’m the top Chris Fox on Google, so it’s definitely working for me.
Congrats on that 🙂
Is it me, or are there a couple months missing after Void Wraith? =p
Did you really make the jump to writing full-time? If so, what’s it like taking the plunge?
I did! I gave up a 130k salary for a San Francisco startup to write full time. Crazy, huh? It was the best decision I ever made.
I’ll do a video about going full time.
Did you really make the jump to writing full-time? What’s it like making a decision like that?
Great work by the way! I’m reading your 5KWPH right now and on Day 3 of building the sprint habit.
Is this really your Amazon author information?
From the Amazon page for Destroyer . . .

He has been published in Outlook & Exchange magazine, .NET magazine and authored a chapter on clustering in Exchange 2000 24×7. Chris currently works as a Portals Technology Specialist for Microsoft Corporation.
Apart from not being able to understand what all that means I am also surprised that you wrote it with those verb-tense mistakes and all.
Is this stuff real or has something gone off the rails at Amazon?
It’s some other Chris Fox, I think. I suspect it was added when the paperback was linked. I’ve got a ticket in to remove it, since I can’t do it via the KDP dashboard =/
Is Destroyer going to be on Audible?
Ryan just finished his first pass at the recording today. I’m hoping it will be up in just a couple weeks!
Chris, did I dream it or did I see an email saying this was available?
Yep, it’s live =)
I have to say that stumbling into the Deathless books has been a great things these last few weeks. While killing my down time before starting a new job I picked up the series…now the worst part is waiting like a normal human for you to crank out another one! Glad to read that you have deep plans for the series. Keep em coming! To get updates do I just need to sign up for the Fiction mailing list?
Thanks, James! Yes, signing up to the fiction mailing list will get you updates on all my fiction. It also shows you a bit of my SF stuff if you read the free story for signing up.
Deathless should be turned into a TV or movie series. I honestly think this is something the Cohen brothers would go crazy for. It would be like the mummy, but better! Cheers Chris for writing one of my most favorite series of all time. Have stuck with the series since day 1 of its release. Keep ’em coming. ps they turned Hugh howey’s omnibus into a movie.. And your fiction is a million times better
Looks like Void Wraith got pushed back to the 6th of next month. I was really hoping to be reading it on my day off. Dangit.
Shoot me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll email you a copy right now. =)
That’s ok, I still want you to get paid for it, so I’ll go through the normal channels. Thanks, though!
I’m lucky I only now just finished Deathless book 3, and my wait time for book 4 is less than a month 🙂 Going to start in on the Hero books in the mean time. Love the Deathless series, Chris!
Yeah, about that =p
I won’t be able to get The Great Pack out until November. But it is coming!
ACK! I finished the Hero books, and I started on Destroyer, and I just noticed I’ll have to wait for book #3 in both of those series, too (although Hero ties in with Deathless. I’m guessing they’ll converge at some point?). I really hope you put recaps at the front of all sequels 🙂
BTW, do you have a mailing list? I couldn’t find one to sign up for.
Disregard that last message, I found it. I thought it would be under Contact and it was on the front page 🙂 I can’t use the links in the books because I read them on a Kindle paperwhite, and it doesn’t do well with web pages.
When will Void Wraith 2 be available in paperback?
Oops. When I get off my butt and actually upload it to Createspace. I’ll get on that.
Any update on Void Wraith 2 & 3 in paperback? Checking Amazon daily.
How soon will The Great Pack be released?
I’m aiming for late November. The book took more research than I’d like, but I’m in them middle of writing it now.
Yes i love the deathless series please tell me that book 4 is coming out this year in 3016 or at least early 2017 please tell me this
