In today’s video, Chris talks about re-examining your author checklist and really making sure that you spend enough time on each item. If you take your time to complete your tasks well, you’ll make more progress than rushing through the steps. Watch the video below for more details from Chris:
The first book in the Magitech Chronicles, Tech Mage, has been released on Audible!
Enslaved and Forced to Fight Dragons
Aran awakens in chains with no memory. He’s conscripted into the Confederate Marines as a Tech Mage, given a spellrifle, then hurled into the war with the draconic Krox and their Void Wyrm masters.
Desperate to escape, Aran struggles to master his abilities, while surviving the Krox onslaught. Fighting alongside him are a Major who will do anything to win, a Captain who will stop at nothing to see him dead, and a woman whose past is as blank as his own.
Caught between survival and loyalty Aran must choose. If he flees he will live, but the Krox will burn the galaxy. Stopping them requires a price Aran may be unable to pay:
Learning to trust the very people who enslaved him.

In this week’s video Chris discusses self-imposed limits. He talks about how writers often make assumptions about what they can and can’t accomplish, and how those limits can prevent you from reaching your goals. Check out the video below for more details!
If you love military science fiction, then today is going to be a very good day. Chris Fox, Richard Fox, Scott Moon, Drew Avera, and Rick Partlow decided to do something fun and all discount their books at the same time. Here’s what they have to offer:
Mankind’s outer colonies are disappearing. Without warning. Without a trace. Fleet command chalks the attacks up to pirates, but Captain Dryker of the UFC Johnston isn’t buying it.
Defying command, he leads his misfit crew into hostile territory in search of answers. They encounter the mythical Void Wraith, an unstoppable legend whispered by the first race. After 26,000 years the Void Wraith have returned to begin the next Eradication. Their technology is superior, their motives unclear.
Humanity cannot stop them. Not without help. Captain Dryker’s only hope is to forge an alliance with mankind’s greatest enemy, the savage Tigris.
One maverick captain, an unlikely crew, and an aging vessel are all that stand between humanity and the Eradication.
Chris is back with a new video today. He just returned from the Novelists INC conference in Floria, and in this video he talks about how to determine whether or not going to writer’s conferences is worth it for you. To hear more, check out the video below:
As an aside, Chris and I live in Northern California, which is on fire right now. Here’s a personal note from Chris about the fires:
As many of you have probably heard, Northern California is dealing with fires, and I happen to live right in the heart of that area. Lisa and I are safe and it doesn’t look like we’ll have to evacuate, but we are ready to do so instantly if that changes. We’ve had high winds for a while now, and that can shift fires very quickly.
We’ve been asked to wear masks, even indoors, because the air quality is that bad. You’ll notice in the video that one of my eyes is bloodshot, and that’s from the smoke in the air. I’ve never seen anything like this, not even the fires down in Los Angeles when I used to live there.
Thankfully, we are fine and in a position to help friends who need it. Many people have lost everything, but we are a strong community and are already rallying to get people back on their feet.
In you’re in a fire danger area, please stay safe!
In today’s video, Chris examines the launch of his recent novel, Tech Mage. He discusses the book’s product page, the experimentation he did with taglines, and a bit about he’s using Facebook ads to zero in on his audience. Watch the video for more details about what has been working to launch an Amazon bestseller:
Enjoying Tech Mage? The second book in the Magitech Chronicles series, Void Wyrm, is now up for preorder on Amazon!
A Suicidal Quest Into the Umbral Depths
Major Voria stands ready to accept the cost for her actions at Marid. Stripped of command and resources, Voria must find a ship and rally a crew. Somewhere within the Umbral Depths lays a hidden world, a world that the dead god Marid intended her to find.
Aran faces a choice. Halt his war mage training, and in the process give up clues to his past, or abandon Voria. Aran sacrifices everything to follow Voria on a suicidal quest into the one place where even gods fear to tread.
On a bleak world in the deepest darkness lays an object of enormous power, one that could turn the tide of the war against Krox. But Voria isn’t the only one seeking the weapon. The great Void Wyrm Khalahk has vowed to hunt Voria, and will see her dead even if it means following her into the Umbral Depths themselves.
All while the dreadlord Nebiat makes herself at home on Shaya, binding the souls of its leaders.
