I won. I wrote and edited an entire novel in three weeks. Destroyer is just under 64,000 words. The book is one proofread away from being published, and will be live in the store by the 28th.

From here, I’ll be releasing 2 videos a week (at least for the next several weeks). On Wednesdays I’ll be sending out videos about outlining, and on Fridays I’ll be sending out videos about Launching to Market.

If there are more / other things you want to see, please let me know. Either way, thank you so much for riding shotgun on this challenge. It was brutal, and I’m not sure I could have done it without your support and encouragement.

Tired. Must. Keep. Editing.

Day 17. Wow. I cannot believe how close to done I am. Today’s video covers a lot. It talks about breaking down a chapter so you can re-write it.

I also have an interview with one of the people that helped me with research, and dealt with an urgent Amazon issue on my book Write to Market.

I’m nearing the end of this whole process, and if I keep to my current pace I should be done with the novel by Saturday. It’s been a whirlwind, but man has it been worth it.

If you’re not familiar with the Pareto Principle (the 80/20 rule), I’m hoping today’s video will provide some useful tips.

The read through is done. The characters are created. I’m just about ready to rock the final edit.

I always begin my editing with a read through of the first draft, as you’ll hear in the Day 13 Video. I also give a basic overview to the whole approach I’ll be using to edit Destroyer.

I finished the first draft for Destroyer, and have just sent it out to mailing list subscribers. No typos have been fixed. There are plot gaps, placeholder names, and all sorts of other fun problems.

Tomorrow, we’ll dive into fixing those!

One more day to go and this puppy is DONE! I had some fun in the Day 11 video, hope you do too =)

I’m just floored. I wrote 50,000 words in ten days, and I feel like these are GOOD words. 80% of what I’ve generated will make it in to the final draft.
