How to Outline Your Novel Part 4- Structuring Your Scene
This is the last video in the main outlining series. I’ll be adding one more next week that shows off the new Aeon Timeline 2.0.
This is the last video in the main outlining series. I’ll be adding one more next week that shows off the new Aeon Timeline 2.0.
Oh crap, I’ve gone full Tony Robbins.
I finally got around to posting the third outlining video. The last one will be out next Friday!
Today’s video is the longest I’ve recorded, weighing in at nearly 17 minutes. I apologize for the length, but there was a lot to cover. I discussed the Smarter Artist Summit, Facebook ads, mailing list growth, and did a Q&A section. There’s also a DayQuil fueled rant or two.
Now that we’re a ways into this launch what else can I show you that will be useful? I can go more in depth with Facebook ads, and am happy to show my experiences with Amazon ads. I’ll be tinkering a lot with both over the next few weeks.
I’ve gotten a ton of questions about which books I’m releasing when, especially from Deathless fans. That’s fair, as we haven’t seen a new Deathless book since Halloween. I’ll address you guys at the end of the article. =)
For those who don’t know I’ve gone full time at this author thing. That means I’m putting a book out every month for the rest of the year. Here are the upcoming release dates:
April 30th
May 30th
August 30th
If you’re a Deathless reader you probably wanted to punch me when you saw the August 21st date. Why have I published so many books, instead of The Great Pack?
Because Deathless is a vast, complex universe. After the admittedly messed up cliffhanger in Vampires Don’t Sparkle I needed to adjust for the, uh, massive changes. I can’t say more without spoilers, but those who read VDS know that the ending changed everything.
I’ve been furiously plotting and world building, and this go around I’m plotting books 4-6 at the same time. That means more prep time, which is why The Great Pack has taken a while to release.
Deathless is my baby. It’s my first series, and I want to do it justice. That means a little more time than some of my easier series. Thank you for your patience. I promise, I’ll do my best to make the wait worth it.
The second video in my outlining series shows you how to create plot & character arcs using the premise we created in video one. Let me know what you think! The reception to the first one was really great, and if you guys like these I’ll keep making similar craft videos.
For those tracking Destroyer‘s launch the preorder is hanging in there around 15,000. That puts it in a great place for the launch on Monday!
Hey everyone! Today is a pretty important milestone. I’ve listed Destroyer on Amazon for pre-order, and have begun preparing for Monday’s launch.
The first video discusses a lot of that setup. Specifically, why I listed it for 99 cents, why I did a preorder, and why the book is enrolled in Kindle Unlimited despite the fact that most of my fiction is wide.
As always, if you have questions about this series please post in the comments here or at YouTube. I’m really excited to have you along for the ride, and I’ve got my fingers crossed that Destroyer will do well!
Quite a few people asked during the 21 Day Novel Challenge how I generate outlines. This is the first video I’ve put together in a series explaining the details of how I approach outlining my novels.
Now that the challenge is finally over I’ve had a chance to sit back and digest the whole thing. I learned a lot in the process, and think I’ll be both a stronger and faster writer going forward.
